Susan knows the importance of the counseling relationship as a force for healing and is committed to journeying compassionately with people during times of crisis and challenging life situations.

Susan has achieved positive results in working with couples, families, children, and individuals during times of anxiety, grief, depression, drug and alcohol abuse, and relational difficulties. She is inspired to offer hope with a caring, listening, and empowering approach to the counseling process.

Susan is a certified Prepare-Enrich (www.prepare-enrich.com) facilitator and enjoys helping couples identify strengths as well as opportunities for growth in their relationships.

Some successes that Susan has facilitated are: guiding a young man on the Spectrum to consistently want to graduate from high school; interrupting one window’s dangerous pattern of alcohol abuse; and leading groups where individual adults grew in their personal abilities to accept, forgive, and communicate more effectively.

Being part of a multi-cultural family, Susan lives diversity every day and is adept at bridging diverse opinions. She uses her judgment and training to positively confront situations, and to be inquisitive and willing to explore different outcomes.

Prior to earning her master’s degree, and as an ordained elder, Susan spent over ten years developing and leading children’s and youth programs; visiting nursing homes and caring for the elderly; nurturing families facing serious medical and personal issues; and mentoring individuals adapting to significant lifestyle changes.

Susan received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Asbury Theological Seminary. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (www.aamft.org).

Susan’s foundation is linked to her loving and supportive family relationships with her husband, her four adult children, and her two grandchildren. Susan likes writing, hiking, dancing, photography, and sewing. To go to her client portal please click here.
